FORTEC Job Offer Scam: Fake Emails From fortecintegrated.de
November 5, 2026
By Talisa Westford, Marketing Executive, FORTEC US
A FORTEC job offer scam is sending fake contract job offers from fortecintegrated.de, a lookalike domain with no connection to FORTEC. FORTEC Integrated GmbH, our sister company in Germany, uses fortec-integrated.de, with a hyphen. FORTEC US email comes only from @fortec.us.
This week, two people contacted us after receiving offers from addresses such as hardy@fortecintegrated.de and helena@fortecintegrated.de. One was offered a remote Senior Database Administrator role, asked for a shipping address for company equipment, then moved to a Microsoft Teams chat and asked to deposit money they were told came from the company and use it to buy that equipment.
The domain has been reported to its registrar, and FORTEC Integrated and FORTEC Group IT are handling the takedown request. The names in these messages can change at any time, so the checks below are the reliable way to tell.
How to Recognize Genuine FORTEC Email
Email from FORTEC US always comes from an address ending in @fortec.us. Email from FORTEC Integrated comes from @fortec-integrated.de, with a hyphen. Check the domain after the @ sign character by character. A lookalike can differ by a single character, as this one does. Real contact details for every FORTEC Group company are on our contact page.
What We Never Ask Job Candidates to Do
We never recruit through Microsoft Teams chats with strangers, and we never ask a candidate to deposit, send, or move money, or to buy equipment. A job offer that asks for any of these is not from us, whatever name or logo it carries.
What to Do If You Received One of These Offers
If an offer like this has reached you:
- Don’t pay, deposit, or move any money, and don’t buy anything the sender asks for.
- Check with us using the details on our contact page, not the details in the message.
- Report it to the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov or to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at ic3.gov.
If you are unsure whether a message is really from us, ask us. We would much rather answer that question than have anyone lose money to someone using our name.
