What is LCD Backlight?

An LCD backlight is a type of lighting technology commonly used in television, computer, tablet, and smartphone screens. It is the source of illumination behind the liquid crystal display (LCD). LCD backlight technology illuminates the pixels on the screen with a bright white light to create an image. This allows for brighter, more vibrant colors on your screens.

In areas with high ambient brightness, such as production halls, shop windows, or outdoor environments, especially in direct sunlight, content on TFT displays with normal brightness is often difficult to read; the display looks dark and faded. High Brightness TFT displays, on the other hand, maintain high contrast and perfectly readable content even under these ambient conditions, thanks to the bright backlight and a special polarizer.

This feature also allows for the display to be dimmed in 24/7 operation at night to prevent blinding, ensuring a perfectly readable display at all times that saves electricity and extends the backlight lifetime.
