MPT-3110R: Rugged Railway Computing for Modern Rail Vehicles
July 16, 2026
The Box-PC complies with EN 50155:2021 and EN 45545-2, making it ideally suited for safety-critical railway applications. It is powered by an Intel® Atom® processor from the x7000RE series, providing sufficient performance for applications such as passenger information systems, video surveillance, data aggregation, and condition monitoring. At the same time, power consumption remains moderate, which is a key factor in mobile applications.
A rugged enclosure and vibration-resistant M12 connectors for networking, USB, and power supply ensure reliable operation under demanding conditions. The integrated ignition control also enables controlled start-up and shutdown in line with the vehicle’s operating logic.
The MPT-3110R also offers extensive connectivity. In addition to dual Gigabit Ethernet, it provides numerous industrial interfaces, including isolated CAN 2.0A, CAN 2.0B, and CAN FD, as well as flexible GPIOs. Two SIM card slots enable WWAN redundancy, allowing the system to switch automatically to an alternative mobile network connection in the event of a network failure. This is a major advantage for applications that require continuous data transmission.
For easy maintenance, the system features a removable 2.5-inch drive bay. This allows storage devices to be replaced quickly, helping to reduce downtime. The system is further equipped with a USB Type-C port supporting Alternate Mode and Power Delivery of up to 60 watts.
With its combination of certifications, rugged design, and versatile interfaces, the MPT-3110R is the ideal platform wherever reliable continuous operation in rail transport is required.
