Ampire 7-Inch TFT Displays: Which Brightness and Touch Option Fits?

Ampire’s 7-inch TFT display family gives you three mechanically compatible displays at 500, 1000, and 1500 cd/m², so one mechanical design can cover anything from indoor use under artificial light to outdoor use by changing the panel. All three are WXGA (1280 x 800) with a 160°/160° viewing angle and an integrated LED converter. We supply them with matching touchscreens, cover glass, and controllers as complete display assemblies.

Which Ampire 7-inch displays are in the family?

The AM-1280800P2TZQW-00H, AM-1280800P3TZQW-10H, and AM-1280800P3TZQW-00H. Between them they cover the three brightness levels, and the datasheet on each product page gives each model’s figure.

Which touchscreen should you pair with them?

That depends on how the device is operated. The FORTEC Group developed touchscreens to match this family in two technologies:

• A low-cost, robust 4-wire resistive touchscreen.
• PCAP multi-touch versions with up to 10 touch points, available as a standard version with black printing on the cover glass and an I²C or USB interface.

The touchscreens come with double-sided adhesive tape already applied for easy installation. The inner tape seals the touchscreen to the display frame all the way around, so no dust can get between them.

Can the cover glass match your product’s design?

Yes. To meet specific requirements for shape, print, and color, we laminate the bare touch film onto a protective glass of your choice, so the front of the device can match the rest of its design. Alternatively, we bond a touchscreen or protective glass directly to the display with VacuBond® optical bonding in Ronkonkoma, which increases readability and robustness at the same time.

How do you get a working display, not just a panel?

We supply a ready-to-connect kit: the display with one of our TFT controllers for HDMI, VGA, or DisplayPort input, the touchscreen, all the necessary cables, and a protective glass against dirt and scratches if the application needs one.

Which Ampire displays are discontinued?

• AM-7201280HTZQW-00H: 5-inch HD (720 x 1280), 360 cd/m², 160°/160°, -20 to +70°C, MIPI interface.
• AM-19201080F1TZQW-A0: 15.6-inch full HD, 1000 cd/m², IPS 170°/170°, -30 to +75°C, LVDS.
• AM-19201200B1TZQW-00 and AM-19201200B1TZQW-T51-A: 10.1-inch WUXGA at 1000 and 850 cd/m², the second with an integrated PCAP touchscreen, -20 to +70°C.
